This Jurassic Park myth is incorrect. T. rex had forward-facing eyes with stereoscopic (3D) vision, giving it depth perception superior to modern crocodilians. Paleontological evidence, including skull analysis and comparisons with modern predators, indicates T. rex could detect both stationary and moving objects. The olfactory bulb was also highly developed, providing excellent smell to locate prey. T. rex likely relied on multiple sensory modalities and would easily detect a standing human.
